專業概況

在這里學什么？

The single major in Chicana/o Studies is a 45-unit program designed to give the student special preparation in the discipline of Chicana/o Studies through a combination of lower and upper division core requirements. The lower and upper division core requirements are complemented by three options (Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts, Education) from which the student must take at least 6 units from two of the options. The major is particularly suited for those students preparing to enter the fields of teaching or social work. It is also a preparation for those intending to enter various graduate and professional fields, such as history, sociology, psychology, library science, political science, social welfare, law, urban studies and others.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students will:

• Demonstrate an ability to think critically, analytically and creatively about the Chicana/o experience in the local and global society.
• Demonstrate competency in oral communication, written communication and research skills.
• Demonstrate an understanding of creative and performance arts.
• Acquire a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Chicana/o history, culture, arts, language and sociopolitical issues.
• Acquire the leadership skills that will promote social change in Chicana/o communities and broader society.

為來自中國的學生設計 Students will be considered for admission to CSUN if they meet the following requirements: Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, or an average of "B" grades on an "A - F" letter grading scale. An international first-time freshman is a student applying to a bachelor's degree program who has not completed any post-secondary course work at a college or university. English language requirements: IELTS Academic - International English Language Test System: 6.0 or higher; iTEP Academic - International Test of English Proficiency - 5.0 or higher; PTE Academic - Pearson’s Test of English - 45 or higher; TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language: Internet Based score: 61, Paper-based score: 500. We do not accept TOEFL ITP.
