Program Description

The B.S. degree in Computer Science provides a broad knowledge of computing and is designed for students who desire: (a) to pursue graduate work in computer science and (b) to work on the development and support of software projects in a diverse range of specialized areas. The Computer Science degree consists of a set of core courses and a 15-unit senior electives package. The core of the program covers programming languages, computer system organization, operating systems, data structures, software engineering, computation theory and societal implications in computing. The senior electives package allows students to specialize in such fields as artificial intelligence, embedded applications, networking, gaming, graphics, software engineering and security.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete the Bachelor of Science program in Computer Science will be able to: Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions; Design, implement and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline; Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts; Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles; Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline; Apply computer science theory and software development fundamentals to produce computing-based solutions.

為來自中國的學生設計 Students will be considered for admission to CSUN if they meet the following requirements: Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, or an average of "B" grades on an "A - F" letter grading scale. An international first-time freshman is a student applying to a bachelor's degree program who has not completed any post-secondary course work at a college or university. English language requirements: IELTS Academic - International English Language Test System: 6.0 or higher; iTEP Academic - International Test of English Proficiency - 5.0 or higher; PTE Academic - Pearson’s Test of English - 45 or higher; TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language: Internet Based score: 61, Paper-based score: 500. We do not accept TOEFL ITP.
