專業概況

在這里學什么？

The word kinesiology comes from the Greek word kinesis, which means to move. Kinesiology is the study of the art and science of human movement. The discipline of kinesiology is dedicated to the study of human movement and physical activity as it relates to sport, dance and exercise. This option is designed for students who have an interest in sport but do not want to become physical education teachers or clinicians in exercise science related occupations. The Sport Studies option focuses on the critical examination of sport in the context of historical and contemporary society, emphasizing skills in cultural analysis and critical thinking pertaining to the administration, leadership, psychological, historical, philosophical and sociological aspects of sport. The option in Sport Studies will prepare students for careers in sport leadership, as well as for graduate work in sport studies, sport management or other related fields.

Student Learning Outcomes

The Department of Kinesiology is a learning-centered community that educates and inspires its students to understand and appreciate human movement for personal expression and wellness throughout the life span. In doing so, students and faculty work together to improve quality of life for themselves and their community. The department values and respects the spectrum of human diversity. An integrated approach to the teaching, learning and application of human movement provides opportunities and experiences to achieve the following learning outcomes:

• Apply an integrated kinesiological approach to encourage the adoption of healthy and physically active lifestyles, across diverse populations.
• Apply evidence-based practices to enhance the study of human movement.
• Demonstrate competent problem-solving strategies through intentional practices.
• Demonstrate knowledge of kinesthetic forms, processes and structures as they apply to the personal expression and culture of human movement.

為來自中國的學生設計 Students will be considered for admission to CSUN if they meet the following requirements: Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale, or an average of "B" grades on an "A - F" letter grading scale. An international first-time freshman is a student applying to a bachelor's degree program who has not completed any post-secondary course work at a college or university. English language requirements: IELTS Academic - International English Language Test System: 6.0 or higher; iTEP Academic - International Test of English Proficiency - 5.0 or higher; PTE Academic - Pearson’s Test of English - 45 or higher; TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language: Internet Based score: 61, Paper-based score: 500. We do not accept TOEFL ITP.
