Course overview

Are you a registered nurse in your country with a nursing qualification at degree level? Would you love to study in the UK to boost your academic qualifications?

We’ll enable you to enhance your academic and professional development by topping-up your existing nursing qualification to masters level within a United Kingdom Higher Education Institution (HEI).

This MSc does not give accreditation with the UK Nursing & Midwifery Council and there are no practice placements attached to this programme.

Course summary

We provide a stimulating and challenging environment for qualified nurses working outside the UK who wish to advance their academic and professional development within a United Kingdom higher education institution. You'll develop a mastery of complex and specialised knowledge as well as a critical awareness of issues at the forefront of nursing practice.

We'll encourage development of conceptual knowledge and advanced understanding of how techniques of enquiry enable the critical and objective analysis, interpretation and application of research and evidence within the international nurse's sphere of influence. Through completion of a dissertation, you'll challenge existing knowledge and facilitate the development of new ideas and new ways of thinking.

Graduate destinations

You'll be able to employ advanced subject-specific and cognitive skills to enable decision-making in complex and unpredictable situations, generating new ideas and supporting the achievement of desired outcomes. You'll display a mastery of a complex and specialised area of knowledge and a critical awareness of issues at the forefront of the area of study.
