專業概況

This is a two-year program offered jointly with Shenandoah University in northern Virginia.

You'll take online advanced practice nursing courses from ODU for the first year. The second year, you'll take courses in the Nurse-Midwifery program at Shenandoah University, which includes clinical work.

Upon completion, you'll receive a Master of Science in Nursing from ODU and a certificate of endorsement in nurse-midwifery from Shenandoah University.

ODU's Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Shenandoah University's Nurse-Midwifery Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education of the American College of Nurse-Midwives.

With training in nurse midwifery, you will be qualified for positions in:

Family practice and primary care

Internal medicine

Pediatrics and neonatal nursing

Women’s health and obstetrics
