The Healthcare Management program at the University of Findlay is a broad degree that gives you a wide range of skills that enhance your employability. Our program will equip you with subject-specific skills, and the ability to look at health from an international, national, cultural or social perspective.

This program focuses on a general examination of the factors necessary to promote a healthy lifestyle in a community setting. The program draws on the disciplines of accounting, business management, economics, gerontology, healthcare and computer science. Educational strategies to promote healthy living are explored with a short practical experience in teaching patients to take care of themselves. This can include opportunities to teach individuals about the prevention of illness, safety measures, care for chronic illness and community wellness. Healthcare management is a unique option if you are interested in a four-year degree in health care but do not wish to pursue one of our professional programs offered in the College of Health Professions. With this major, you can choose different emphases including:

• Gerontology
• Healthcare management
• Physical education
• Personal training
• Psychology

With our Healthcare Management Program, you will have the opportunity to prepare for a graduate-level health care career. You will be considered for enrollment into programs such as athletic training or physician assistant. This program will give you fundamental knowledge about the health professions field and introduce you to the basic principles of patient care. Students with degrees in healthcare management may move forward to graduate study or begin careers in:

• Hospitals
• Health information management
• Nursing facilities
• Community service agencies
• Public health facilities
• Therapeutic recreation centers
• Health clubs
• Spas

Positions may range from entry-level hospital administration roles to service programming for a community agency for the elderly.u200b

English Language Requirements: TOEFL (iBT) score of at least 61, an IELTS score of at least 6.0, a Pearson Test of English (academic) of at least 50, or an International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) of at least 3.5.
