在這里學什么？ Physiotherapy is a science-based allied healthcare profession that assists people to maximise their ability to move and function. Physiotherapists use physical approaches to help people to improve their health, wellbeing and quality of life. This hands-on profession is currently in demand and graduates can find opportunities in a wide range of health, social care, educational and recreational settingsOur recently updated programme has been approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and accredited by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP). On graduation, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC and membership of the CSP. **Why Choose University of Cumbria**- Since 2003 our course has enabled students from diverse backgrounds to successfully graduate and enjoy rewarding careers both locally, nationally and internationally- Our lecturers have the academic and clinical expertise to enable you to successfully graduate and become a physiotherapist- Starting in Year 1, you’ll spend one third of your studies ( min 1000 hours ) in a variety of practice placement areas both within the NHS and other sectors- Our excellent partners in practice will support you in developing physiotherapy skills with real clients; ensuring you can meet the required standards for registration- A flexible elective placement in Year 2 allows you to explore areas of specific interest- You will learn a range of practical skills in our specialist physiotherapy practical rooms and health simulation suites as well as in practice - You will gain valuable experience in working with other healthcare students, as you would in practice- Our small year groups (around 30 students) mean you will get to know your classmates and be treated as an individual- You'll graduate as a physiotherapist eligible to apply for registration to work in the UK and abroad, who can work in the NHS, education, private, voluntary and independent sector settingsThe three-year BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course focusses on the development application of core physiotherapy knowledge and skills. Carefully designed academic and practical learning experiences will enable you to develop your confidence. You will learn to deal with the whole person, by exploring health promotion, physical and mental wellbeing.**Year 1** focuses on the core knowledge and skills that are fundamental to physiotherapy practice including: anatomy and the human body; health and ill health; Physiotherapy examination and treatment; research and evidence based practice and professional practice.**Year 2** concentrates on the application of knowledge and skills both in the classroom and within practice. You will deepen your knowledge and develop your skills in key areas of physiotherapy practice and research.**Year 3** Prepares you for the start of your career as a graduate physiotherapist. You will learn to integrate previous learning to more complex cases and develop management and leadership skills, including undertaking your own research project. The emphasis is on you graduating as an independent, lifelong learner ready to take on the role of a registered physiotherapist.
