The mission of the Strength and Conditioning Program is to prepare entry-level practitioners with a solid foundation of knowledge and theory as well as practical application of strength and conditioning (or personal training) methods.

The University of Findlay is one of 57 schools in the United States that offer a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) recognized program. We offer both a bachelor’s degree in strength and conditioning and an associate’s degree in personal training. Upon earning these degrees, you will be well prepared to sit for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist’s (CSCS) examination. In addition, many of our strength and conditioning students pursue graduate degrees in our athletic training or physical therapy programs.

In addition, three internships are required to graduate. These internships may include working with a UF sports team, a Findlay-area fitness center or regional sports teams. This will provide you with a chance to gain hands-on experience.

The field of strength and conditioning has emerged into respected professions such as:

• Physical fitness and weight training
• Personal fitness training
• Strength and conditioning specialists
• Education coordinators
• Athletic trainers
• Neuro-exercise specialists
• Strength coaches

Acceptance into the Education Recognition Program (ERP) means that University of Findlay has met, and continues to meet, educational guidelines recommended by the NSCA. Recognition is good for three years. ERP consists of three separate recognitions:u200b

The ERP Personal Training Program

Recognizes colleges and universities that offer two- and four-year educational programs in personal training.

The ERP Strength and Conditioning Program

Recognizes colleges and universities that offer at least a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in strength and conditioning.

The ERP Graduate Studies Program

Recognizes colleges and universities that offer at least a master’s degree related to strength and conditioning or sport performance. There are two levels of recognition - applied curricular and research/curricular.

為來自中國的學生設計 Applicants must have high school grades (minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average) and class rank. English Language Requirements: TOEFL (iBT) score of at least 61, an IELTS score of at least 6.0, a Pearson Test of English (academic) of at least 50, or an International Test of English Proficiency (iTEP) of at least 3.5.
