The course is designed for you if you already have training in hands-on therapy (including a trained chiropractor, physiotherapist or any other fully qualified and suitably experienced practitioner), if you hold a Bachelor’s degree in equine or animal science or if you are a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

The MSc Animal Manipulation is awarded by BPP University.

BPP University owns, manages and operates the McTimoney College of Chiropractic. All learners are learners of BPP University; programmes are approved and taught by BPP University; and graduates are awarded a degree of BPP University.

The MSc Animal Manipulation is a two-year course, beginning in January each year with a limited annual intake, and leads to the award of an MSc Animal Manipulation. For those graduates who are chiropractors, this course provides a route to Membership and Fellowship of the College of Chiropractors and the Specialist Animal Faculty. The overall aim of the course is to offer sound teaching in the theory and practice of animal manipulation, with particular emphasis on the McTimoney technique. It aims to produce safe, competent and reflective practitioners as well as encouraging opportunities for research and further postgraduate studies.

Learners are assessed by a variety of means appropriate to the course module. These may include written examination, projects, oral presentation and practical assessment. The aim is to build learners' knowledge and confidence so that they may progress through the course and be ready for final assessment.

How the course is taught

The overall aim of the programme is to offer sound teaching in the theory and practice of animal manipulation, with particular emphasis on the McTimoney technique. It aims to produce safe, competent and reflective practitioners as well as encouraging opportunities for research and further postgraduate studies. The programme aims are:

To provide solid teaching in the theory and practice of animal manipulation To create opportunities for personal and professional development To contribute to the research base of this specialisation and to encourage research amongst practitioners To promote animal manipulation as a safe and practical method of treating animals To provide safe, competent and reflective practitioners To encourage the establishment of the cohesive professional view formalised in a new professional body for animal manipulators To set levels of competency and to place the work of practitioners in an ethical and philosophic context

Assessments and examinations

The programme features a variety of assessments including coursework and examinations. Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies. Examinations will be with written elements or multiple-choice questions and maybe unseen or part-seen, where assessment material is released in advance. BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. On occasion, some assessments may require attendance at a physical location.

為來自中國的學生設計 Students need to have one of the following: 4-year Bachelors awarded by a recognised university:in a subject relevant to the course to be studied at BPP Business School, awarded with a final mark of approximately 70%; 4-year degree from a private college in China with 85% pass; Students with no first degree but with 5-7 years work experience will be considered; Degrees from non-prestigious Chinese universities will be assessed individually; 3-year diploma plus employment experience, awarded by a recognised university in a subject relevant to the course to be studied at BPP Business School and awarded with a final mark of approximately 70%. If students have one of the following qualifications, they would be required to undertake our Masters Foundation Programme before entry onto a postgraduate Masters degree: 3-year diploma (Da Zhuan) in China with less than 70% and no work experience; Students without a first degree but with suitable relevant work experience may also be considered on for some masters programmes.
