Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) is a science that defines how health information is technically captured, transmitted and used. This program is based on the science behind electronic health records.

The on-campus MSHI Program focuses on information systems, informatics principles and information technology as it is applied to the continuum of healthcare delivery. It is an integrated discipline with specialty areas that include:

• Management Science
• Management Engineering Principles
• Healthcare Delivery and Public Health
• Patient Safety
• Information Science
• Computer Technology

At the University of Findlay, you can earn a master’s degree in this rapidly growing field in just two years. Applicants are not required to take the graduate record exam (GRE).

Health informatics is growing twice as fast for overall employment, yet the U.S. is seeing a shortage of qualified employees and lack of individuals possessing both medical and technical knowledge to properly innovate in the field.

What Can You Do With A Master’s Degree In Health Informatics?

With the advent of healthcare reform, there is an increased focus on transparency in healthcare and patient demand for their health information to be available electronically. Health informatics is an evolving field. Responsible for the collection, storing and proper delivery of confidential medical data, the demand for these skilled individuals is rapidly surpassing the national supply. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), demand for health informatics professionals will increase by more than 15 percent. The main specialization areas for health informatics jobs are:

為來自中國的學(xué)生設(shè)計 Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or meet specific graduate program admission requirements and have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in the last 64 semester hours of undergraduate work. English Language Requirements: minimum score of at least 79 on a verified TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) with 20 or better in speaking and 20 or better in writing or a verified International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic score with a minimum overall band score of 7.0.
